The Annapolis Arts Alliance has opened its Second Annual Holiday Gallery and Gift Shop at 63 West Street in Annapolis’s arts district. A showcase of work by 24 local artists, the shop is open afternoons and evenings from Wednesday 11-6, Thursday 1-midnight, Friday 1-10, Saturday 11-10 and Sunday 1-6 through Christmas Eve.
Exciting new paintings by Kimberly Minear, fabric painting on handmade lavender pillows by Beth Vosoba, and fused glass plates by Tina Van Pelt greet you when you step into the shop. The new work by many of Annapolis’s well known artists, including Lisa Masson, Sonja Holleman, and Dale Hall, is available here. Also included are the maritime photographs by Bill Mish and the beautiful digital photography by Frances Borchardt.
There is also the “torn paper” art of Greta Morris, fine jewelry by gold and silversmith Stephanie Beall, and watercolors framed and on coasters by Dave Murphy. Also, Wimsey Cove Maps is also at the shop with its extensive inventory of bird’s eye views and historic maps of Annapolis and near and far away places. As you browse, enjoy a cookie and a hot drink from the table in the rear. The shop is staffed by the artists and make sure you always ask about new pieces coming in to replace sold items. In any case, don’t go out without one of Carly’s angels, beautiful fused glass ornaments hanging on the tree by the door.
Founded by former Mayor Ellen Moyer, the Annapolis Arts Alliance is a non-profit organization dedicated to all the arts in Annapolis and the surrounding communities. Whether you are a professional or amateur artist, a patron of the arts, a visitor or a resident in our capital city, the creative arts enrich our lives. The goal of the AAA is to provide one collective voice for anyone interested in or touched by arts. Shopping at the Holiday Pop-Up Shop encourages you to give a unique local gift and encourages our artists to enliven the Season with their art.
