There’s a big Greek community in Annapolis, but the annual Greek Festival in Annapolis welcomes all people who want an authentic Greek salad, Athenian desserts, grilled lamb, fresh feta, and entertainment in the forms of live music, shopping, and kids activities. One of the festival tag lines is, “Come and celebrate 4 days of being Greek!” and we couldn’t be more excited to do so. We touch on the food, the entertainment, and the info you need below.

What is it?

The annual Greek Festival happens in an effort by Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church members to retain and share some piece of their heritage. This festival affords the greater Annapolis community the chance to try Greek delicacies, shop for imported goods, and enjoy the entertainment and warm weather. This event is held both indoors and outdoors at the aforementioned church.

Where and what time is it?

The Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church is located at 2747 Riva Road in Annapolis.

The festival takes place May 29 through June 1. Hours are as follows:
Thursday from 4 to 10 p.m.
Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Admission is free.

What about parking?

Parking is also free and provided at the church. The church parking lot is expected to fill up. As a result, parking will be available at Annapolis High School. A free shuttle will take attendees to and fro.

What else?

It’s no surprise that kids and people who love to eat are catered to in this festival. Kids have bouncy houses, face painting, and more activities to enjoy. Adults (and maybe hungry kids too), on the other hand, will take pleasure in the homemade food items–everything from appetizers of olives and cheese to entree dinners of white fish in onion-tomato sauce. Sandwiches, soups, and of course, famous Greek pastries, will also be available for light eaters. Beer, wine, spirits, and Greek coffee will be for sale.

New for this year, there are nightly food specials and live dance performances from various dance groups in the area. Also new, the award-winning Senior Aegean Odyssey Dancers will offer a dance workshop on Thursday at 7 p.m. for those who want to learn the steps. Yelling “opa” is encouraged!
