Annapolis, MD (2016) Annapolis Mayor Michael Pantelides and United States Naval Academy Superintendent Vice Admiral Walter E. “Ted” Carter Jr. announced that in celebration of Veterans Day, the U.S. Naval Academy Brigade of Midshipmen will march through downtown Annapolis from approximately 11 to 11:45 a.m. on Saturday, November 12, as part of the pre-game festivities for the Navy home football game against Tulsa at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.

“This is a great opportunity to pay respect to all who served in the United States Armed Forces,” Mayor Pantelides said.  “I urge you to come out and support the United States Naval Academy and take time to thank the many Veterans in Annapolis for their service.”

The midshipmen will follow a route up Main Street to College Avenue, proceeding to Rowe Boulevard towards the stadium.  Expect road closures and delays between 11 a.m. and noon in these areas.

Spectators for the march-over are reminded to stay on the sidewalks and not to interfere with midshipmen or security personnel.  Spectators are also requested to please refrain from throwing candy, food, beverages or other items at midshipmen and uniformed personnel during the march-over in order to maintain the safety of the midshipmen and to keep our city streets clean.
