If you’re looking for fun things to do this week in Annapolis, here are a few of our recommendations. February 2 through February 9 is a busy week in the Capitol City!

Feel like singing? It’s Rockstar Karaoke at Wild Willy’s Rock House & Sports Saloon! Join the Wild Willy’s staff for Rockstar Karaoke and you can be the vocalist for a live band. Just pick any song and the band will play it. Karaoke takes place Thursday, January 3rd starting 9:30 pm. You can compete against other karaoke sings to win fantastic prizes or cash. Wild Willy’s is a crazy and outgoing Annapolis restaurant and bar.

The Jing Ying Institute of Kung Fu & Tai Chi is celebrating the Chinese New Year! Since it’s also the company’s 10th Anniversary, they’re celebrating extra hard. They are offering free or low-cost workshops and classes for adults and children. Stop by for the Ancient Wisdom of Self-Healing Massage workshop, a tea tasting, Chinese calligraphy class, Tai Chi class, self defense for women class, and several other great options. There are activities scheduled from February 3rd through the 9th this week. Times of workshops vary, so call the institute ahead of time with questions or just swing by 1195 Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard Unit 6 and take a look!

Photographers from the Muddy Creek Artist Guild are displaying their work at the Annapolis Maritime Museum on 2nd Street in Annapolis this Saturday. The exhibit will feature photos from the Chesapeake Bay Collection from 12 pm to 4 pm on Saturday, February 5th. Each piece on exhibit is for sale and a portion of the sales will be donated to the Museum’s education programs.

The Green Turtle in nearby Edgewater, MD is throwing a Super Bowl party in honor of the big game. Join the gang at the Turtle on Sunday, February 6th, at 5:30 am for the kick off. Cheer for your team or hang out and watch the expensive and flashy commercials with your friends. The Half-Time Show, featuring the Black Eyed Peas, should be pretty cool, too. The game, Super Bowl XLV, starts at 6:25 precisely. The Green Turtle is located in the Kmart Shopping Center at 3213 A Solomons Island Road in Edgewater.

Rams Head Tavern is hosting a fun-filled murder mystery dinner on Monday, February 7th. The dinner mystery y is called “Lucy… I’m Dead”. Doors open at 6:30 pm, a buffet is served from 7 to 7:45 pm, and the show starts at 8 pm. You’ll see both Ricky and Lucy during this class-act murder. Rams Head Tavern is located at 33 West Street in Annapolis. Have a great time guessing who the murder was in this on-stage production.

Its ladies night this Tuesday, January 8th, at Brique, where they host a Girl’s Night Out for those ladies who love sipping wine during a night out on the town with their friends. During Girl’s Night Out, from 5 to 9 pm, ladies can enjoy half off of all appetizers and a complimentary bottle of red or white house wine. Brique focuses on American and French cuisine and has an extensive wine collection at their wine bar. The average entrée cost is between $10 and $15.
