The Colonial Players opens a play this week that takes its audience back to the 1930s, along with the romance, Gone With the Wind. Infinity Theatre also opens their musical tribute to the Andrews Sisters entitled Sisters of Swing. June 9 is the premiere but the musical runs until July 1. Infinity Theatre’s talent cover the songbird sisters with comedy, dancing and singing. Call 877-501-8499 for tickets.

Ram’s Head revs up the week with musical performances by rockers, bassists, pop singers, and funk masters. On Monday, Timothy B. Schmit hits the stage and brings talent and pure exuberance he gained from acting as a member of the EAGLES and Poco with him. See Schmit for $55 at 8 p.m. Interested in sultry bass? West Street’s darling coffeehouse, 49 West Coffeehouse, hosts a bunch of great music this week. To start, Ruben Dobbs performs at 7:30 p.m. on Monday for $10. On Tuesday, Unified Jazz Ensemble brings acoustic jazz to the spot. The cover charge is $6. UJE plays at 8:30 p.m. On Wednesday, Starrs Jazz Jam returns at 7:30 p.m. See the show for $10. Thursday, Rob Levit Group hits the stage at 8:30 p.m. for $6. Celebrate Friday night with String Theory and Gus Russo. Enjoy this jazz, vocals, and string instruments show at 8 p.m. for $20. Maryland Hall teams up with The Sachs Memorial Summer Jazz Series to bring you installments of free jazz music by local musicians. This week, Potomac Jazz Project performs on Wednesday, June 6 at 6 p.m. Because the performances that go through the summer are on the Labyrinth at Maryland Hall, attendees should bring outdoor chairs, food, and drinks to enjoy! Hard Bean Cafe will be open at Maryland Hall, so if you don’t feel like bringing food and drinks, purchase some there. There’s more excitement from Maryland Hall too! This Saturday, June 9, Maryland Hall presents Dueling Brushes from 9 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. At this event, artists paint downtown Annapolis and are then judged. The judging begins at noon. See the artists posted and painting downtown and at City Dock. If you can’t make it to the event, peruse the artwork at Maryland Hall (in the Balcony Gallery) June 10 through July 15.
Aside from Dueling Brushes, Saturday brings a fabulous event that brings together wine, food, beer, downtown Annapolis, and interesting people. That’s right; it’s that time again for Annapolis’s International Food, Wine & Hops Festival! At this marvelous festival, attendees will taste the best of Annapolis restaurants, wines, and retailers. In addition, there will be cooking demonstrations and live entertainment. The sampling takes place from Westgate to Church Circle. Tickets are $30 for one. Here’s an artsy event that is sure to please even those with little patience for contemplating artwork: Maryland Pastel Society Show at Quiet Waters Park. Roam the artwork while enjoying the views of nature. The only charge that goes along with this event is the park fee ($6 per vehicle). The art is on display from June 7 to July 29. Chesapeake Children’s Museum brings art activities to the Annapolis Arts and Crafts Festival on June 9 and 10. Aside from the artsy fun, there will also be live music, artists, crafters, and merchandise for sale. The festival takes place at the Navy-Marine Corps Stadium, in the parking lot.
