Feel like rocking to the blues? Singing along to passionate lyrics? Being surrounded by new and old friends in a famous yet familiar music venue? Head to Ram’s Head on West Street this week for some incredible musical acts. First up, Steve Earle performs with special guest Charlie Mars at 8 p.m. on Monday. This roots rock show costs $49.50. Tuesday, Blue Sky Riders welcomes Nashville talent Kenny Loggins, Georgia Middleman, and Gary Burr. This performances begins at 8 p.m. and costs $67.50. Wednesday, three women songwriters share the stage–Adrianne Gonzalez, Garrison Starr, and Maia Sharp. This group of women knows how to rock; see them at 8 p.m. for $22.50. Thursday, Marcus Miller treats the crowd to contemporary jazz at two shows–6 and 9 p.m. See Miller for $35. More jazz ensues on Friday thanks to the saxophonist Euge Groove. Groove also offers two shows–6:30 and 9:30 p.m. Each show costs $35. Saturday, it only seems natural to rock with a tribute band to The Rolling Stones. Satisfaction is their name and their aim. Jazz is always the scene at 49 West Coffeehouse. This week, 12 talented area songwriters take to the stage for an eclectic mix of music. This event goes on from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. The cover charge is $12. Tuesday, local favorite Unified Jazz Ensemble performs at 8:30 p.m. for $6. Wednesday, Starr’s Jazz Jam is back with music on the bass and piano. Tickets cost $10. The show begins at 7 p.m. Thursday, Rob Levit takes the stage with guitar and handwritten song lyrics in hand. This show begins at 8:30 p.m. and costs $6. Friday, Kings of Crownsville perform Americana music mixed with blues, rock, and jazz. The cover charge is $10. The show begins at 8 p.m. Saturday, The Other Band performs at 7:30 and 9:30 p.m. The cover charge is $6. Also on Saturday, Larry, Jen, and Pete bring a relaxed sing-along vibe to 49 West with a free show. The trio begins at 4 p.m. Sunday, Jonathan Stone performs smooth melodies for free at 10:30 a.m. Lastly, 49 West teams up with Annapolis Film Festival’s “Short Film Crawl” for four hours of short films and food. Maryland Hall and filmmaker Stu Maddox offer the viewing of Gen Silent, a film that experiments with sexual orientation intolerance. Follow the action this Tuesday at 7 p.m. There is also the chance to meet Maddox after the film. This screening costs $10 for the general public.

There’s yet another intriguing event scheduled at Maryland Hall this Friday and Saturday–”Guys and Dolls.” This musical captures fun, dancing, and upbeat music all in one show. This Saturday, Annapolis Sailing School hosts Hospice XXXI Shore Party, an event complete with information on sailing, live music, vendors, food, and drinks. This event runs from 3 to 8 p.m.–the perfect time to watch the sun set over the water.

Annapolis Green

As always, Annapolis is one of the most green (and fun!) cities leading the way in preserving the Earth. Every little bit helps, that’s why this week, there are events to teach you about oysters, electric vehicles, spiders, and how to live green in Annapolis. On Monday, the Annapolis Maritime Museum in Eastport shows a screening about electric cars that’s both educational and inspiring. There is a question session scheduled afterward. The ticket price is $5 and the movie begins at 7 p.m.

On Tuesday, Historic London Town and Gardens presents an oyster workshop–”Did you know oysters poop?” This event is perfect for kids as they will learn oyster biology and will most certainly find the workshop title entertaining. This event is free at begins at 7 p.m.

At 580 Taylor Avenue, a garden naturalist will teach kids about spiders and their webs. This event takes place on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. The cost is $1 per child.

It’s that time again–when eco-friendliness combines with socializing. A.ka., it’s time for Green Drinks! This social green event is held at Gott’s Court Garage in downtown Annapolis. Garages are going green, prompting the theme for this Green Drinks event. There is no registration or fee required. Green Drinks starts at 5:30 p.m. this Wednesday.

This Thursday, taste the Chesapeake Bay with a delectable menu of local food and drinks at Quiet Waters Park. This gala also features live music, auctions, and information about going green. The tickets cost $125 for the general public. The gala begins at 5:30 p.m.

Saturday is always filled to the brim with green fun. This Saturday, Annapolis can enjoy a self-guided tour of the gardens at Murray Hill. Canoeing is not only great exercise, but encourages participants to unite with nature. This Saturday, canoe from Smithsonian Research Center to Muddy Creek and Rhode River and locate wildlife. Sunday, there’s yet another chance to learn about green cars with “National Plug-In Day in Annapolis.” Join Annapolis in its first year of participation at City Dock, where there are tailgate parties, test drives, and more. Annapolis History
Schooner Woodwind gives Monday a positive connotation thanks to “Historic Mondays.” This ongoing event awards participants the chance to learn and sail the waters of Annapolis. This Monday, hear from a French soldier under the name of Young William, who helps the American army.
