The tickets cost $42 for adults and less for seniors and children. Departure time is 6:30 p.m. and return time is 8:30 p.m. For more information on this event, head to www.annapolis.org.
Annapolis Green
This week marks a great challenge made out to the greater Annapolis area. Now through July 28, we are encouraged to buy local, eat local, and help grow the local small business in the nearby economy. The challenge comes to us in the midst of summer, when bountiful produce is in full swing, thus making it easy to participate in. For more information on this event and the ones below, head to www.annapolisgreen.com.
Another green event that comes to you this week is the favorite one shared by many eco-friendly folks: Green Drinks Annapolis. This one takes place at the Historic London Town and Gardens in Edgewater from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Been living under a rock and haven’t heard of Green Drinks? The premise is this: it’s a social, free party that brings together all sorts of small businesses that practice green, local authorities, and people who want to learn more about the green scene. There is a cash bar. The event takes place on Wednesday. The theme is storm water.
Part of what makes going green so enticing is the informed feeling one can have. 49 West Coffeehouse supplies you with an educational opportunity this week, on Thursday. “Cafe Scientifique” revolves around fishing practices and the gathering of salmon, in particular. This event is free and takes place at 49 West Coffeehouse on West Street downtown. The talk begins at 6:30 p.m.
At Mayo Beach Park in Edgewater, the First Annual Swimmable Action Day takes place this Saturday, July 28. Learn about swimming and kayaking and practice your skills in the water there. There is no fee involved–just come in water gear! The event begins at 9 a.m.
