The USNA Parade on October 7 along with the performance by Bates Middle School has been cancelled due to the government shut-down.
The United States Naval Academy Band, under the direction of Lieutenant Commander Bruce A. McDonald, will provide a musical tribute October 7th on Lawyer’s Mall in Annapolis, Maryland in honor of the Navy’s 238th birthday. 40 – 45 members of the USNA band will march along Maryland Avenue to the State House where they will break their marching formation and go into concert formation. One or two local choruses will also provide songs and celebration. The procession will begin at 4:00 pm. The performance will begin at appoximately 4:45 and end around 5:30.
