Annapolis Green

Going, living, and talking green are quite fun, and Annapolis Green is out to prove it. The organization’s wildly popular “Green Drinks” party is part eco-minded network and part social. This Wednesday, another round of Green Drinks kicks off, this time, at the exquisite O’Callaghan Hotel on West Street. The event is free and no tickets are required. The networking fun begins at 5:30 p.m. and ends about two hours later.

Thursday and Saturday, downtown Annapolis gets in on the green action. Thursday, the public is invited to board the Stanley Norman skipjack for a lesson on sailing, the Bay, and how we can do our part to keep it clean. Tickets cost $40 per person. The educational sail departs at 5 p.m. from City Dock. Saturday, USNA’s Greenbury Point Nature Center provides the chance to learn about oyster garden and even get hands dirty. This event costs $75 per person. Times for the event are: 9 a.m. or 2 p.m.

Also on the green side of things, the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center in Edgewater provides an outdoorsy opportunity this Saturday. Hike in the area for $4 per person while learning about native plants and wildlife. For more information on these green events, head to Annapolis Green.
