More music comes your way via Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts, well-known for its well-rounded offerings all things categorized by “the arts.” This week, take enjoyment in Motown & More: Celebrating 55 Years on Friday at 7:30 p.m. This show, as the title states, celebrates five decades of great soul and blues music. Tickets are on sale at www.marylandhall.org.
Even still, there are more music choices! Maryland Hall presents the Whit Williams Big Band performance on Sunday, April 27. Music is also found in dance performances this week, particularly in Bowie Center for the Performing Arts’ Edges and Dimensions: An Exploration of Contemporary American Dance. Here’s a cool event that is indicative of the promise of warmer weather: St. John’s College’s In Vino Vertias: An Exceptional Wine Event. Happening from April 25 to the 26, this two-day event brings the public the chance to attend wine “workshops,” like “Wine and Cheese Pairings” and “Grillin and Swillin,” which pairs BBQ with BBQ-complementary wines. Essentially, this event warrants a lot of drinking and eating. The price is $50, which includes wine tastings and attendance to one workshop of your choosing. The public should pre-register as a space is limited. The times to go depend upon the workshop you want–look to http://invinoveritasannapolis.com for more.

It’s not every week that a special cruise from Watermark comes around. This week, there are two special cruises, both revolving around the St. Michael’s Wine Festival. Take a trip with a loved one to the festival via water on Saturday, Sunday, or both! Head to the link above for tickets.

Saturday, Annapolis participates in GreenScape, a project that encourages city-wide cleanup. Participate in the morning and see neighbors hopefully doing the same.
