Annapolis hosts many great events throughout the year, but this week feels extra special thanks to the Annapolis Rotary Crab Feast, the free alumni concert by USNA Band, and the green lacrosse event with the Bayhawks and Annapolis Green. See what you’d like to attend from the list below!
Annapolis Entertainment
Annapolis patiently awaits for this next event all year long: the Annual Annapolis Rotary Crab Feast. This year marks the 69th one and will include the staples that made all the previous years so great: delicious Maryland crabs, good drinks, good music, and plenty of vendors selling merchandise and more. This all-you-can-eat feast lasts from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the Navy Stadium. Tickets cost $65 for adults and $20 for kids. Go to www.annapolisrotary.org/crabfeast to find out more.
This is a big week for the Naval Academy, not only because it’s alumni week, but because USNA Band commemorates this big week with a free concert open to the public. The concert happens at City Dock and is scheduled for Tuesday, July 29, from 7 to 8 p.m. Enjoy lively tunes and celebrating the alumni who have served Annapolis and the nation. For more details, head to www.usna.edu.
More concerts come your way this week thanks to Annapolis Maritime Museum and Historic London Town and Gardens. At the museum, be entertained for free with summertime tunes by Blue Seude Bop from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Kids are invited and brining blankets and lawn chairs is encouraged. Learn more at amaritime.org. Over in Edgewater at London Town, music by Naked Blue, food, alcoholic beverages, and luscious garden views will be available. Admission is free and the show starts at 5 p.m. Go to www.historiclondontown.com to learn more. Donations are greatly appreciated for both events.
Here’s a new, comical, and fun performance: Annapolis Summer Garden Theatre’s Spamalot, a performance that follows the Monty Python and the Holy Grail original from the 70s. This family friendly show retells the story of King Arthur and his Round Table Knights in conquest of the Holy Grail. The show starts on July 31 and runs through the end of August. For tickets and more, head to www.summergarden.com.
Annapolis Green
Go green, watch the Bayhawks, and enjoy the night air with the Chesapeake Bayhawks’ Go Green Night. Ticket sales to the game benefit Annapolis Green, your source for all things green in Annapolis. The game begins at the Navy Stadium at 7:30 p.m. The organizers of this event encourage you to wear green to show your support! Visit annapolisgreen.com to learn more.
Annapolis History
This Wednesday, the Historic Annapolis Museum and Store welcomes the public to a historic, informative event entitled “The Role of U.S. Colored Troops in the American Civil War.” This event retells the trials and tribulations of the slave trade, the battle for freedom and equality, and how US colored troops aided in the abolition of slavery. The price is $15 for the general public. The event runs from 7 to 8:30 p.m. For details, head to www.annapolis.org.
St. John’s College is no stranger to knowledge and with the Wednesday Lecture Series, all of Annapolis can keep minds sharp in the summertime.
