The Fringe Festival concept may have been born in Edinburgh, Scotland, but the phenomenon has spread like wildfire the last several years to cities all over the globe. Now hundreds of local Fringe Festivals take place each year, including right here in Downtown Annapolis.
According to the Annapolis Arts and Entertainment District website, “‘fringe’ is a term used to describe theater that is not in the mainstream or presented in alternative formats, encompassing everything from staged performance art to street theater.” The event will take place simeltaneously at venues around Downtown Annapolis and feature a wide range exhibitors, from first timers to nationally known acts, dedicated to over the top entertainment and expression.
The 2015 Annapolis Fringe Festival will run from 7pm to midnight on Saturday, September 26 and performers and attractions include: Jeff Huntington, Cabaret of Curiosities, F. ART sale, Tinkus San Simon, Alma Boliviana, Leah Campbell, Fast As Lightening, Dominic Fragman, WoodSmith, and many more.
