This week of Christmas, we encourage you to spend time with those who matter most. Even still, some events around town allow you to get out and about to explore the entertainment scene. A mixture of time at home and time enjoying Annapolis is sure to fit the bill.
Annapolis Entertainment
49 West Coffeehouse is closed a few days before Christmas, but opens on the 26th with a show by Jordan Tice. This performance is under the theme of laid back bluegrass. Tice performs at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. for $15 each show. Friday, folk music by Muddy Creek will be performed at 8 p.m. for $15. Saturday, American Roots Night returns with The Wrighteous Rounders at 8 p.m. This show costs $10. Rams Head also takes a break before Christmas, but returns on December 26. That night, an Irish invasion via O’Malley’s March, is scheduled around 6:30 p.m. This Celtic rock performance costs $25. O’Malley’s March also performs at 9:30 p.m. for the same price on the same day. Friday, Ted Vigil pays musical tribute to John Denver with covers of his songs at 8 p.m. This show costs $23.50. Saturday, a tribute to The Allman Brothers Band is performed by Live at the Fillmore. This performance costs only $22. Watermark’s most festive cruise, the “Jolly Express” cruise, is available throughout the week–even on Christmas and Christmas Eve. To help guests enjoy this 45-minute ride through the Bay area, Watermark provides blankets and hot cocoa. The price for this cruise is only $22 for adults and $12 for kids. Annapolis Families
Kwanzaa is the African-American celebration that comes at the end of the year. This long-standing celebration holds the key to treasures of African heritage and cultural beliefs. The Chesapeake Children’s Museum hosts a Kwanzaa celebration of its own to connect kids of today with the traditions of the past via hands-on activities. This celebration is ideal for ages four to six and is held on Saturday, December 28, from 11 a.m. to noon. This event is free with museum admission. Go to CCM’s site to learn more.
