New Year’s Eve and the start of 2014 are bundled into this week, which is quite a big deal. The entertainment scene is still picking up from the Christmas holiday break, but if you need to get out of the house, Annapolis has fun in store for you.

Cruising around the Bay with Watermark’s Jolly Express cruise continues through December 30. Enjoy this post-Christmas for a reminder of the jolly spirit at the end of the year. The Watermark crew provides guests with blankets and hot cocoa for this 45-minute cruise. For more information, go to Cruises on the Bay.
New Year’s Eve is really the highlight of this week’s entertainment, and City Dock has scheduled family fun in preparation. We cataloged the New Year’s Eve happenings in a previous article, but will reiterate what’s happening here. City Dock is the place to be on December 24 from 3 to midnight. As we explain below in “Annapolis Families,” families can enjoy appropriate, hands-on activities from 3 to 7 p.m. After the family fun, everyone is invited to enjoy the first round of fireworks after 7 p.m. After this first set of fireworks, local radio stations and musical groups will perform live to encourage dancing. Finally, the night’s featured event–the midnight fireworks–ensue from around the Harbor. Enjoy all these festivities for free. Parking will be limited. Go to Annapolis New Year’s Events for more.
Other than the City Dock celebration, we also highlighted a few performances downtown at Rams Head and some restaurants on West Street. Rams Head welcomes The Deanna Bogart Band for a pre fixe meal and lively show that encourages dancing. The cost is $114. Other downtown establishments like Metropolitan and Treaty of Paris provide special drinks or glasses with meals. Check the above link to learn more.
Wednesday, the first of January, Rams Head welcomes Maggie Sansone’s Windrift Celtic Band along with special guest Robin Bullock. This show begins at 5 p.m. and costs only $23.50. Friday, Tom Principato performs at 8 p.m. for $25. Sunday, Todd Snider and Kevin Gordon perform at 7 p.m. This show costs $27.50. For more on these shows, go to Rams Head.
