You know something is entertaining and special when it knows no bounds. Such is the case with Annapolis Restaurant Week. This city-wide event requires no passes or special tickets; rather, all you have to do is dine out. Both chain restaurants and local spots participate in the event. Could anything be more entertaining than a classic performance spiked with humor? United States Naval Academy’s Music Department puts on a winter musical that is sure to tug at your heartstrings and evoke nostalgia: The Fiddler on the Roof. The performances take place in USNA’s Mahan Hall on March 1, 2, and 3. These three nights–Friday, Saturday, and Sunday–are the final nights of the musical, so catch it before its gone. It’s another week of dual plays at Bay Theatre. The company puts on shows one right after the other. The first, Sister Mary Ignatius Explains It All for You, has a hilarious plot with a twist when several former students of the nun’s come back to pay her a visit. The second performance, The Actor’s Nightmare, is about an actor who experiences the nightmare all actors are petrified of: forgetting lines and clothes on stage! The Colonial Players end their drama/comedy this week: Trying. The premise is of a young, ambitious woman who tries to win the professional affection of her stern boss, but there are many twists that unfold along the way. Ram’s Head on Stage presents rockin’ shows with big names in a comfortable, inclusive atmosphere. This Friday and Saturday, Johnny Winter Band makes appearances to perform blues rock music. Winter and his band will begin to play at 8 p.m. each night. Each show costs $45. On Sunday, Ram’s Head gets a dose of something quite different: Irish Celtic music. Celtic Crossroads makes this unforgettable, feet-stomping performance a possibility. The show is appropriate for all ages at 3:30 p.m. For the adult crowd, the 7 p.m. that’s also on Sunday, March 3, is ideal. Tickets for these shows cost $39.50 each. Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts presents two very unique, worthy events this week. First, there is another installment of the “Bridges to the World Film Festival” this Thursday, February 28 at 7 p.m. The film of interest is Kung Fu Dunk, a screening from Taiwan. As always, the film screenings are free and open to all who would like a little culture. English subtitles will be provided at the bottom of the screen. The second Maryland Hall event is a symphony fused with narrative, “Schumann and Symphonic Storytelling.” This show, with soprano Jessica Rivera as its main focus, is presented by Annapolis Symphony Orchestra. Rivera performs several nights in the hopes that all can come to experience the beauty of opera: March 1 and 2, at 8 p.m. Naturally, tickets depend upon seating; however, the ticket costs range from $13 to $48. 49 West is at it again: offering inexpensive entertainment from locals. Monday, enjoy the passionate lyrics and music from local singer/songwriters for $10. The show begins at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Unified Jazz Ensemble returns for modern jazz at 8:30 p.m. This show costs $6. Wednesday, Chick Habit, an acoustic group, takes the stage at 8 p.m. The show is absolutely free. Thursday, it’s another round of Cafe Scientific, this time, with astronomer Patty Seaton. The educational experience starts at 6 p.m. and is free. At 8 p.m. on Thursday, folk/indie/jazz/rock singer, Eivor performs. This eclectic mix of music is sure to entertain, especially since the show only costs $12. Friday, Tom Mitchell & Friends has laidback music to perform at 8 p.m. for $10. Saturday, Walter and Wilson perform at 8 p.m. for $10. Sunday, Jonathan Stone performs for free at 10 a.m. and Gary and Leah sing at play at 4 p.m. for free. Annapolis Families

Some childhood classics–like Dr. Seuss–translate across all generations. Children, adults, and seniors can all find enjoyment in the silly rhymes, bold colors, and emotional messages the classic collection offers. Chesapeake Children’s Museum puts on a birthday celebration for Dr. Seuss to honor its transferability and lovability. The birthday celebration spans two days–Friday, March 1, and Sunday, March 3. Friday’s celebration is at 10 a.m.; Sunday’s celebration is at 2 p.m. Enjoy activities, crafts, and of course, other fun things inspired by Dr. Seuss. The event is free with admission to the museum. Annapolis Green

This Wednesday, February 27, is another round of Green Drinks. This eco-friendly social networking party takes place in the Great Room at The Golf Club at South River in Edgewater. The admission is free. Green information is also free, and given out gladly. Green Drinks is from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. If you can’t make it to the Green Drinks on Wednesday, try the Green Wheaton Event, Green Drinks edition, on Thursday. This event is similar, but will have a raffle, prizes, giveaways, and carries at $5 admission fee. This Thursday event takes place at 11301 Elkin Street in Wheaton.
