You may not see the synergy between Bud Light and the nationwide campaign, Keep America Beautiful, right off the bat. However, this summer, the two entities are changing that perception with a series of fun volunteer clean-ups across the nation. The “Do Good. Have Fun” campaign is hosted in various cities this whole summer in the hopes that the community will rally behind the clean-up effort and have a blast while doing so. Lucky for us, the “Do Good. Have Fun” campaign is coming to Annapolis this Saturday, July 26. Spend a few hours cleaning up the Ellen O. Moyer Back Creek Nature Park and then party with beer, food, and friends at Port Annapolis Marina for a few hours. The event is free and promises to be quite rewarding. Keep reading for more.
The concept is fairly simple: you volunteer your clean-up efforts from 8:30 a.m. to noon and then you’re rewarded with a lunch party from noon to 3 p.m. at Port Annapolis (located next to the park). Annapolis Community Boating is also a stakeholder in this volunteer event not only because the organization’s headquarters are located in the park, but because participants are encouraged to clean-up the shoreline at the park. We all know the harm trash does to Annapolis waterways, which is one thing Annapolis Community Boating is fighting against. You can help by devoting some of your clean-up time to the shoreline.
If you’re not convinced that cleaning up an Annapolis park could be a good time, watch the video below. Bud Light documented folks in the Austin area doing some good and having fun and we bet the same good and fun combo will be had in Annapolis.
Although Bud Light’s target audience is young people, the whole community is invited. This opportunity provides the chance to get outside, benefit the local environment, and enjoy time with friends too. No experience with landscaping is needed. Tee shirts are provided for participants too.
So that’s it! Round up some friends, register your services online (see link here: #UpForWhatever), and head to Back Creek Park at 7314 Edgewood Road on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. You’ll clean up litter until noon and then you’ll drink, eat, and feel glad you did good.
