Annapolis Entertainment

A new performance is out this week at Compass Rose Theater: Murder in the Cathedral. This T.S. Eliot winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature should not be missed. It opens the 30th and continues through March 8. Go to compassrosetheater.org.

Annapolis History

Maryland State Archives hosts a free informative public talk about some insights from projects and happenings at the Archives off Rowe Boulevard on the 28th. Bring a lunch and learn! The 29th, Annapolis Maritime Museum welcomes the public for another round of its winter lecture series. This week’s installment is “From Obscurity to National Prominence: How John Paul Jones Got to Annapolis.” Learn about this “father of the US Navy” in a two-hour-long speech, from 7 to 9 p.m.

February kicks off with an eclectic, fun, and educational event, presented by The Mitchell Gallery over at St. John’s. Various places in Annapolis host this lecture series about Annapolis historians, architects, and scholars. Historic Annapolis comes alive with this event, which lasts on the 1st from 2 to 5 p.m. The link above will provide details on the locations.
