July Fourth isn’t the only day with scheduled entertainment this week–there are events for families, music lovers, and green followers all throughout the week.

Annapolis Entertainment

This Thursday marks another anniversary of Independence Day. Annapolis provides ideal entertainment at the Harbor in the form of fireworks around 9:15 p.m. The show is free, open to all, and available for viewing from anywhere with a view near City Dock.

The United States Naval Academy Band is back this week with “Electric Brigade” performances in Ellicott City and Baltimore. These events are free and designed to bring all together for an Independence Day celebration. The music is high energy–ideal for dancing and commemorating the history of the USA. There are no tickets required. The event in Ellicott City is on the 3rd at Centennial Park at 7 p.m.; Baltimore’s location is the Inner Harbor Amphitheater on the 4th at 7 p.m. Also on the 4th in Annapolis, The Naval Academy Band, “The Navy’s Oldest and Finest,” performs at Susan B. Campbell Park at 8 p.m. There will be music first and fireworks that follow. Like the previous events, this one is free and does not require tickets. At Annapolis Summer Garden,

continues this week. Complete with music and interesting twists, this performance about friends who throw together a musical on major time constraints, is sure to entertain. Performances are scheduled from Thursdays to Sundays until mid-July. Head to www.summergarden.com to learn more.

Ram’s Head on West Street entertains with live, rockin’ music all week long. This Friday, July 5, Ram’s Head hosts a benefit concert for Arts in Annapolis, featuring Higher Hands, The Audissey, Rachel Joy Pletts, and Adam Day. Listen to a night of music beginning at 8 p.m. for $20 to benefit the arts. On Saturday, Ruut releases her album and celebrates the fact along with musical guest Eric Scott at 2 p.m. The release party costs $16.50. Cruise the Annapolis waters in celebration of July Fourth with Watermark Cruises. The day before the 4th, the Harbor Queen is set to sail for three hours full of drinks, food, and good people. Annapolis History

The beloved “Historic Mondays” continue this Monday aboard the Schooner Woodwind with a picture of the Annapolitan past. Learn about the old days of Annapolis when the Maryland Gazette came to be in the 18th century. Tickets cost $42 for adults and $27 for kids. For the Fourth, the William Paca House gets in on the celebration with a naturalization ceremony and tours of the beautiful Paca property. The event begins at 10 a.m. and lasts until 2:30 p.m. The whole thing is free–a great way to kick off Independence Day!

Annapolis Green

At the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center, kids and adults alike can partake in a canoe excursion on Saturday, July 6. Canoe and observe wildlife in the water and on land.
