Annapolis Entertainment

This week is close to St. Patrick’s Day, a beloved holiday here in Annapolis (thanks to events like the St. Pat’s Parade, which happened on the 8th). If you can’t wait until the next week to partake in St. Pat’s shenanigans, head to Eastport Democratic Club’s annual and much-anticipated Green Beer Races, happening on Saturday. Dress in your favorite hues of green and be prepared to do beer races, drink, and participate in team-oriented activities. Even Fido can attend! Go to eastportdc.com to see more.

Also opening on Saturday is the Birds of a Feather performance over at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts. This show features great songs and great fun. It starts at 7:30 p.m. View the website, marylandhall.org, to see more.

Friday and Sunday at Maryland Hall welcome a completely different performance: Cosi fan tutte, an operatic performance from Annapolis Opera. Friday’s show begins at 8 p.m.; Sunday’s show begins at 3 p.m. Head to the link above to learn additional info.

The Colonial Players continue their performance that focuses on allegiance to country, family, and love, Watch on the Rhine, this week. This performance has been running for a few weeks now, but won’t be here forever. Catch it before it goes! Head to thecolonialplayers.org to see the synopsis.

If you’re heading to Davidsonville on Saturday, perhaps to do some shopping or eating, check out the DACA Green Expo, happening from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Davidsonville Elementary School. It’s free and open to all. Those who attend will learn about green practices, sustainable living, and more vital information for creating a greener world. Annapolis History

The William Paca House has always been a cherished source of history and fun. This week, the staff prove it with Mr. Paca’s Backyard, an event that welcomes families with young children to gather for a story reading. This week’s installment: Like a Windy Day by Frank Asch. After story-time, children are encouraged to fly a kite in the garden and enjoy the luscious, lovely backyard. The event takes place on March 10, from 10 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. Visit annapolis.org to see more.
