Whether you want to enjoy live entertainment, learn something about the past, or just participate in some of the town events, Annapolis has plenty for you. This week, there is a bounty of family events as well. The top portion of this post will tell you all about musical entertainment this week; the bottom will show family-oriented events. Annapolis, Maryland Entertainment

Ram’s Head Tavern once again has music for Annapolis folk to pull them through the severity of winter. Isn’t it nice someone is looking out for you? On Tuesday, Robert Earl Keen exhibits his talent in musical storytelling at 8 p.m. Keen blends contemplative lyrics with soulful melodies, creating relaxation yet engagement in the audience. The cost is $46.50.
On Wednesday, Over the Rhine plays acoustics to indie-type lyrics. This husband and wife duo will have you crooning to their easy beats and harmony. What better way to start off February than with a musician couple? The admission price is $30 and begins at 8 p.m.
Thursday, Jim Weider Project Percolator displays their funky jazz at 8 p.m. The band will be showing off their new musical endeavor: to play a mix of several music genres like funk, jazz, and R & B. Admission is $23.50.
Friday, February 3rd, Edgar Winter Band rocks the stage at Ram’s Head with rock, blues, and jazz tunes. As the younger brother of guitar legend, Johnny Winter, Edgar is sure to strum out clever chords. The band plays twice on Friday; 6:30, and 9:30 p.m. The cost is $39.50.
Saturday, Good Deale Bluegrass switches up the classic bluegrass tunes. Sally Love Connell will also visit the stage on Saturday. The cost is $21 and the show begins at 8 p.m.

49 West Coffeehouse has music this week, too. The coffeehouse starts off February right with jam sessions on the first day of the month. Joe Byrd will be there along with other musicians to treat visitors to a night of jazz from 7-10 p.m. There’s a ten dollar cover charge.
Thursday, February 2nd, Rob Levit Group populates the coffeehouse with their jazz/guitar tunes. The cover charge is only $6. The performance begins at 8:30 p.m.
Friday, Tom Mitchell & Friends are there from 8-11 p.m. playing guitars. The cover charge is $10.
Saturday, Crabgrass is at 49 West, jamming with string instruments. They begin playing at 7 p.m. Bring $6 for the cover charge.
Sunday, February 5th, Gary & Leah play Americana/roots music from 4-7 p.m. There is no cover charge.

Annapolis History Mixes With Fun

This event is catered to every little girl’s dreams, minus the pony. At the William Paca House on 186 Prince George Street, girls aged 3-10 can enjoy tea time dressed as their favorite princesses. Parents too, can enjoy this event and the history behind it. The bustling city we all love, Annapolis, is named for Queen Anne, the hostess of this event. Tea time is scheduled for 1-3 p.m. The event is priced at $20 for non-members and $15 for members of Historic Annapolis. February not only houses Valentine’s Day, but it also is Black History Month. The Cheskapeake Children’s Museum in Annapolis presents “Breath of My Ancestors” where a presenter will discuss past events with modern facts. The books sold at the event sponsor 21st Century Global School House. The event is for kids 9 and older and only requires a $4 museum admission. It takes place at 5 p.m.

Also at the Chesapeake Children’s Museum, on February 5th, parents and kids can learn how to protect the environment, and more specifically, the wetlands. To keep kids interested, the event includes outdoor activities, so dress appropriately. The event is in honor of World Wetlands Day (February 2), so make sure to be kind the environment both days!
