Antiques are an integral part of the Annapolis shopping scene (and we’re not referring to the large number of retirees who live in the area).  Dealers and savvy shoppers know they can make out like bandits in Naptown. The greatest concentration of shops can be found on Annapolis Street in West Annapolis and on Maryland Ave., between the State House and King George Street. Here’s a sampling of shops selling high-end antiques at competitive prices. Happy hunting!

Blue Crab Antiques 55 Maryland Ave.   410- 949-7055  bluecrabantiques.com

The Blue Crab houses an eclectic collection of fine china, sterling, crystal, art glass, porcelain, furniture and unique objets d’art—like the occasional cigar store Indian and carousel horses.

Bon  Vivant 104 Annapolis St..  410-263-9651  bonvivantantiques.com

Come for vintage crystal and glassware, dinnerware and silver, furniture rugs/carpets and lighting. You may run into Chip, the store’s bushy-tailed mascot who stops for his daily ration of peanuts.

Echoes and Accents 224 Chinquapin Round Rd. 410-280-8800  echoesand accents.com

Customers sing the praises of Echoes and Accents, for it’s style and pizzazz at showcasing “gently used” furniture and home furnishings (no basement shlock here!), antiques, and contemporary merchandise in an attractive and soothing setting.

Evergreen Antiques 69 Maryland Ave.   410- 216-9067    antiquesannapolis.com

A stone’s throw from Gate 3 of the Naval Academy, it’s not surprising that Evergreen has Academy- and nautical-related collectables and antiques in addition to furniture, china and pottery, silver, jewelry, books and bottles.

Then and Again Antiques Mall 2009 West St. 410- 573-0313  thennagain.com

Conveniently located near the Westfield Annapolis Mall and Annapolis Towne Centre, Then and Again features a large selection of antiques from multiple dealers. The shop also accepts consignments of fine collectables and offers assistance with estate sales.
