The Walk the Walk Foundation has been helping local kids and families for more than a decade. Founded in 2005 as an attempt to facilitate greater “cycle of giving” in the region the group uses donations and its own resources to help the less fortunate. One of their centerpiece programs, a bike assembly and giveaway ran into a little snag for Christmas 2005 and the group needs a little community support.
They generally spend Ocrober and November setting up shop in a donate warehouse where hundreds of people serve thousands of hours assembling donated bikes and storing and sorting Christmas gifts for more than 1,100 children. This year, they have the resources still, but nowhere to store or assemble.
David Mitchell, one of the groups founders, recently reached out for help in finda person or firm that was willing to donate space to the project.
“Ideally we are looking for about 8,000 Sq Ft somewhere in the central Anne Arundel County area,” Mitchell wrote recently in an appeal letter. “But since we can not provide these gifts without some place to operate from any offer would be greatly appreciated.”
The group hopes that someone either will be able to donate the space or put them in touch with someone who might be able to. Please email Mitchellherefor more information or if you can help.
