Though Compromise Street is just a small piece of downtown Annapolis in terms of size, it represents what Annapolis stands for: luxury accommodations, unbelievable views, local food, a commitment to the water, and the best of entertainment.
Dine
Pusser’s Caribbean Grille, that beautiful, outdoor/indoor restaurant located right off the Annapolis Harbor, not only offers great food and drink deals, but they offer rewards for being in-the-know with them. What’s even more enticing about these rewards is that they require no fee and hardly any effort. The first, the email club at Pusser’s, only asks that you join their email list to receive notification of deals and special offers. As a bonus, when you submit your email on their site, they send you a free appetizer coupon. In addition to the email club, the concierge program supplies you with cash for spending on meals at Pusser’s–all you need are friends. Chat it up about the delicious seafood and experience at Pusser’s; once seven people tell Pusser’s you sent them, you receive $35 to spend on your next meal there. Your friends are rewarded too: they get a complimentary appetizer or dessert.
Pusser’s features food specials quite often, but the Sunday brunch is a constant. Enjoy Caribbean-style food with an Annapolitan touch for $18.95 per adult and $9.95 per child ten and under. This price does not include alcoholic drinks, but these can be added for $3.
Aside from the food and rewards, Pusser’s at 80 Compromise Street in downtown Annapolis can host your next blowout party of up to 100 people. Formal seated dinners and buffet-style dinners are available at the restaurant. Event planning can also be arranged. For more on Pusser’s head to http://pussersusa.com/ or call 410-626-0004.

Annapolis would not be the same without the lively entertainment scene, which is in part thanks to Annapolis Summer Garden Theatre. On warm summer nights when you and some friends and/or family are strolling around downtown, attending a live show at ASGT is only natural. As the name states, the venue is only available for entertaining during the summer–usually late May to early September–but the anticipation builds during the closed months. The first performance, Swing, takes swing-dancing in Harlem, New York, to new levels with singing and energetic dancing. This show kicks off May 23. ASGT also offers summer camps for hopeful thespians, seventh grade and up. For more on tickets, camps, performances, and more, head to http://www.summergarden.com. Annapolis Summer Garden Theatre is located at 143 Compromise Street. A true Annapolis treasure, Schooner Woodwind, is also on Compromise Street, between Annapolis Marriott Hotel and Pusser’s. With the local company’s twice a day tours starting in April and a range of specialty tours, it is easy to see why Schooner Woodwind is a beloved piece of the city. There are tours that explore the Chesapeake Bay with live music, wine tastings, local food and more. Naturally, ticket prices depend upon the desired tour. Some specialty tours worth explicating on include the “Sailor’s Delight” cocktail cruise in April, the “Mother’s Day Brunch Sail” and “Lighthouse Cruise” in May, the “Father’s Day” tour in June, the “Fireworks Cruise” and “Everything Local” tours in July, the “Crafty Brews on the ‘Heavy Seas’” tour in August, and the “United State Sailboat Show,” “Champagne Brunch,” “Chesapeake Bay Schooner Race Watch,” and “Return Cruise from Norfolk to Annapolis” cruises in October. The “Wine in the Wind” tour, which is a wine tasting tour around the Bay, is offered throughout the summer months and into the fall. In addition to these specialty tours, Schooner Woodwind features “Boat & Breakfast” packages, through which guests are treated to on-boat accommodations, two hours of sunset sailing, and a delightful breakfast the next morning. These packages begin in May and are sold by the cabin, for $299 for two people. Look to http://www.schoonerwoodwind.com to learn more about their packages and book cruises. Annapolis Yacht Club, at 2 Compromise Street, upholds several great Annapolis traditions. Namely, the Wednesday night boat races, which are completely free and open to all. Watch fast boats race from AYC’s dock out into open Bay waters. These races typically begin around 5:30 p.m. and are perfect for young aspiring sailors and older viewers alike. In addition to the races, AYC hosts multiple regattas throughout the year, the CBYRA Race Weeks during August and September, and “Frostbite Racing” during the winter months. Most events at AYC occur during the summer, but Frostbite Racing occurs November through mid-March. For information about this Annapolis staple, head to http://www.annapolisyc.com.
