Annapolis, MD – The Mayor’s Office of the City of Annapolis presents “Diaspora: A Black History Celebration,” on February 23 from 2 to 8 p.m. at “Pip” Moyer Recreation Center. This event is in partnership with Annapolis Recreation & Parks and the Housing Authority of the City of Annapolis (HACA).
This free event will feature African American art, artifacts, food, music and storytelling to highlight significant contributions to American history and culture.
Throughout the day, elected officials will be on site to participate in the festivities, including Mayor of Annapolis Gavin Buckley, and members of the Annapolis City Council. For youth, there will be plenty of interactive activities. For people of all ages, performances will include students from Anne Arundel County Public Schools as well as professional dancers and artisans, and choirs and praise dancers from local churches.
