The traditional spring match of croquet between the United States Naval Academy and St. John’s College will take place on Saturday, April 16, 2016. This is the 34th Annual Croquet Match and along with the excitement of the match, there will be a lawn party with the exquisite sounds from the St. John’s Freshman Chorus and swing music provided by the Naval Academy’s Trident Brass Band. Wear your fancy hats and summer attire to fully enjoy the theme of the event. A picnic is also a must for those who intend to spend the day watching the game from the comfort of a blanket on the lawn. Setting up will be permitted at 10 a.m. before the match begins. Bringing alcohol on campus grounds is forbidden, but adult beverages as well as food will be made available during the day starting at noon on the Front Lawn.
Free weekend parking is available at the state garage at the corner of St. John and Calvert Streets. Paid parking is also available at other nearby city lots. Grills and pets are not permitted on campus. Coolers and bags are subject to inspection. Only lawn chairs, blankets, and tables lower than two feet are permitted in the area around the match site. Purchased alcohol is not permitted outside the match grounds.
