Maritime Republic of Eastport’s Tug o’ War

Annapolis City Dock City Dock, Annapolis

The annual Maritime Republic of Eastport’s Tug o’ War charitable event is billed as the longest International Tug of War over water in the world.  It features a 1700-foot rope, 450 tuggers and 1000 spectators in a festival like atmosphere. Tugging begins promptly (more or less) at the crack o' noon.

Oyster Festival

The Oyster Festival will have demonstrations showing the vital role oysters play in maintaining the health of the Chesapeake Bay.  Seafood lovers are invited to feast on raw and fried oysters, oyster stew, fried oyster roll sushi, cream of crab soup, Maryland crab soup, and much more. Patuxent Wildlife Festival

There will be live animals, children’s crafts, tram tours ($), scientific demonstrations and behind-the-scenes research tours of the U.S.G.S.
