This week’s events are kind of niche-y and for that we have to apologize but we don’t make the coolest events and more-fun-than-anyone-can-possibly-stand happenings, we just tell everyone what the best ones are. If you’re down for more general interest type things take advantage of the season and scrape your eyes over our Halloween fun part 1 and part 2 Annapolis event articles for a wide variety of Fall events. We’re certain there’s something in there for all levels of fear-tolerant.
However, if your Halloween spirit hasn’t quite kicked in or has already worn out its welcome, there are plenty of good options in and around Annapolis this week, apart from all the mainstay Annapolis restaurants, elegant hotels, galleries and culture. Living on the other side of the Chesapeake Bay, I’m insanely jealous of your Trader Joe’s, so realize that baselines for excitement vary wildly.
For some earlier in the week laughs, actor and comedian Brad Garrett is appearing at the Ram’s Head Thursday @ 6 and 9 p.m. Tickets are $50 apiece and available online. The comedian warns this is an R-rated show and not the good-natured goofball character he’s most widely recognized as Ray Romano’s brother Robert on the hit TV series Everybody Loves Raymond. Garrett’s roots are in standup philosophizing so expect a good show.
The Carrie Weedon Science center in Galesville is hosting their annual yard sale fundraiser this Saturday beginning at 8 .m. and running until noon. The raised funds will go to general upkeep and maintenance of the facility and its programs. Be sure to get their early for the best selection, but honestly if you’re reading a bit about a yard sale you’re probably firmly in the hardcore segment and know this already. Another option is if you’re a member of my family in which case: Hi Mom! Or you’re my boss in which case: Hi boss! Working hard!
I am not, because very few people are, working as hard as a prospective bride. However, I am building a segue more blunt than that one in my garage in my spare time, if it can be believed. Right now it looks pretty much like a steamroller, but I think I can do better. The Annapolis Maritime Museum is opening its doors between 2 and 5 p.m. to showcase its facilities. Waterfront weddings, concerts and corporate events are all welcomed by the museum facilities so this is as good a time as any to check it out if you’re still in the early planning phase.
Finally, American Legion post 226 will play host to a craft fair on Saturday between 9:30 and 1:30 p.m. Jewlery, knitted or crocheted items and other sorts of crafty things will be widely available. Also, the kitchen will be open as well as the baked good table. Give it a look see if that’s your thing.
There are a lot of different interests represented in this week’s big events so it’s likely there’s something to pique your interest. Apart from these there are still plenty of Halloween events going on each and every weekend up until the end of the month.
NEXT WEEK: Final Halloween wrapup and a “monster” fishing tournament.
