When it comes to Asian food, we have lots of expectations. We want it quick, we want it fresh, and we want it to be big on flavor. Thanks to the plentiful sushi and Asian cuisine options in Annapolis, we have a whole new set of expectations for this type of food. Nano Asian Dining on Main Street serves these expectations with its modern, comfortable environment, varied sushi and kitchen options, and affordable prices. We paid a lunch visit to Nano and retell of the good stuff below.

Located downtown, Nano is a prime location to quickly grab a roll or two of sushi for lunch with friends yet is also ideal for a nice sit-down dinner. The sushi bar is the longest one in Annapolis. From the bar, a few seasoned sushi chefs craft tightly wrapped rolls of sushi and sashimi. Guests can order all types of sushi–from the traditional California roll to the more complicated rolls like the crunchy shrimp tempura. The prices of sushi are comparable, with most coming in around $8 per roll. The seafood represented there include: red snapper, smoked salmon, multiple kinds of fish roe, eel, squid, octopus, red clam, tuna, scallop, shrimp, crab, mackerel, and more. The sashimi are fresh, plump, and the most delicious way to get more Omega-3.

Nano Asian Dining Sushi BarNot in the mood for sushi? Try out the Asian cuisine options for lunch and dinner that are fully cooked. The menu spans five pages and is packed full of appetizers, entrees, soups, and salads. Appetizers come in the form of egg rolls, tempura, fried tofu, dumplings, edamame, and miso soup. Appetizers from the kitchen, like the ones just described, average to be about $6. Appetizers from the sushi bar also come in rolls and sashimi. These appetizers are a bit more expensive, averaging $10. Entrees like General Tao’s chicken with sticky rice and broccoli populate the menu. Pad thai, basil chicken, pineapple fried rice, crispy red snapper filet, and pepper steak are also available. Entrees from the kitchen round out to be about $13. Salads like the avocado salad, and soups like miso soup, are the perfect accompaniment to entrees from the bar and/or kitchen. These lighter options (salads and soups) cost around $5.

The interior of the restaurant is just as cool and fresh as the food. Orange walls, wooden booths, seats with pillows, colorful paper lanterns, and bright Asian decorations on the walls create a warm and modern environment. It’s comfortable, well-lit, and welcoming.
