The “About Us” tab on Silopanna’s site reads, “We’re the Rams Head Group and we’re all about Food, Fun & Beer.” That should be enough to entice most of you out there who are considering attending this year’s Silopanna, but for those of you who are still unsure, consider that the line-up includes big-name bands like The Flaming Lips, Dashboard Confessional, Matt & Kim, Eric Hutchinson, Sleeper Agent, Hellogoodbye, and some local groups like Sweet Leda and Higher Hands. All in all, there are nineteen bands that cover every music genre–from rock to funk–ready to make this year’s Silopanna the best one yet. There is also beer, wine, food, and plenty of space for dancing and socializing in true outdoor festival fashion. Keep reading for the details and plan to be jammin’ alongside your favorite group this August.
What is it?
Silopanna is quite easy to describe: imagine over a thousand people on lawn chairs, eating, drinking, and dancing to the music by increadible artist after incredible artist for twelve hours. That’s Silopanna. The event is outdoors and as such, is truly the highlight of Annapolis summer concerts.
Rams Head Group created this festival back in 2011 and has been booking great artists ever since (minus in 2011 thanks to Irene). Each year gets better than the last.
What’s the line-up?
Annapolis is no stranger to great visiting bands: consider Kevin Bacon, Kevin Costner, and other mainstream artists have performed at Rams Head. However, what makes Silopanna so desirable is the fact that all sorts of praised groups share one day of live performances in Annapolis. We previewed some of the groups performing at this year’s Silopanna above, but here’s the complete list:
The Flaming Lips
Dashboard Confessional
Matt & Kim
Eric Hutchinson
Sleeper Agent
Jimmies Chicken Shack
Hellogoodbye
Chappo
Twin Forks
Pasadena
Sweet Leda
Little Bird
Skribe
