We made it through Hurricane Florence with little more than some flooding downtown, and even the Ren Fest in Revel Grove stayed open throughout the weekend. Hopefully last week was the worst we’ll suffer during the hurricane season, and our fall festivals, like Ren Fest, will continue as planned. (North Carolina was hit as hard as predicted, however. Here’s how you can donate to the NC Disaster Relief Fund.)

Speaking of fall festivals… Homestead Gardens’ 35th annual fall festival is happening this weekend, and Greenstreet Gardens’ weekly fest in Lothian, MD, starts on Saturday, too. Get ready for hay rides, corn mazes and apple cider drinking to your heart’s content. This Saturday, Sept. 22 is the first day of fall, and after a long, hottt summer, we’ve been all but counting down the days. And if you’re taking one last beach vacation before the seasons change, Ocean City’s annual Sunfest is this weekend, too.
