What could be better than celebrating with music? We celebrate Christmas with the good sounds of Bing Crosby; we enjoy July Fourth with upbeat summery tunes; and we even begin the start of sports games with the music of the National Anthem. Thus, it only makes sense to celebrate Navy’s 238th birthday with music, which is very appropriately led by the Chief of Naval Operations Admiral Jonathan Greenert and the Navy Band. Keep reading for more details to plan your October fun.

According to Navy Band’s site, the concert will be at a different location than in years previous–the Music Center at Strathmore in North Bethesda. The music will range from a classy instrumental blend to country tunes. As would only make sense, the concert will also feature good old Navy songs that retell of sailing days and traditions. To accompany the music, there will be passages read from important historical documents.
