The Lights on the Bay Illumination at Sandy Point State Park will be open from November 20th through January 2nd. Check out the glistening 2-mile drive-through spectacle of holiday lights. The show benefits the Anne Arundel Medical Center and features more than 60 holiday lights displays. Some favorite illuminations include dinosaur lights, the winter fairy tale set, and anything Maryland themed. An entrance fee of $14 is collected before you may enter. Lights on the Bay is open from 5 to 10 pm nightly.

Visiting Santa in his home at the Inner Harbor has been a tradition for local families for years. Kids of all ages are welcome to visit Santa and tell him all of their holiday wishes at the Harborplace Amphitheater. Photos will be taken and available for purchase. Santa will be at the Amphitheater Monday through Saturday from 11 am to 7 pm, and on Sundays and Christmas Eve from 11 am to 6 pm. The Harborplace Amphitheater is located in Baltimore, MD. Santa will be at the harbor starting Saturday, November 20th and continuing through the rest of the holiday season.

It’s ladies night this Tuesday, November 30th, at Brique, where they host a Girl’s Night Out for those ladies who love sipping wine during a night out on the town with their friends. During Girl’s Night Out, from 5 to 9 pm, ladies can enjoy half off of all appetizers and a complimentary bottle of red or white house wine. Brique focuses on American and French cuisine and has an extensive wine collection at their wine bar. The average entrée cost is between $10-$15. This upscale-chic dining destination offers the freshest seasonal and local ingredients available. Brique is located at 122 N. Commerce Street in historic Centerville, MD.

Join the party at Rams Head Tavern on Thursday, December 2nd from 4:00 to 6:00 pm for the Doppelbock Beer Release Party. Get yourself the pretty $4 commemorative glass and enjoy all additional pours for only $2.50 each. Music will be played by the Pressing Strings. Rams Head will also have a Toys for Tots drop off box for new, unwrapped toy donations. Rams Head Tavern is located at 33 West Street in Annapolis.

The Colonial Coin Club of Annapolis is hosting the Annapolis Coin Show on Sunday, November 28th. This will mark the 48th year of the Annapolis Coin Show. The show is free to the public and there is plenty of free parking. Stop and check out the coins from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

The Giving Tree at Greater South River Animal Hospital will be providing an opportunity to give back to the community this holiday season. The Animal Hospital will have a decorated tree with a “wish list” of items that local shelters are in desperate need of. You may select an item to donate to a shelter from the wish list. On Christmas Eve, the collected gifts will be delivered to the local animal shelters. You will receive a nice Christmas as a keepsake for participating in the event. The Giving Tree is located at 125 Mayo Road in Edgewater, MD. You may visit the tree starting on Friday, November 26th through Christmas Eve.

The Seuss Sculpture Garden, and many other cool holiday shows, open at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center this week! The Seuss Sculpture Garden features 5 of the most beloved Dr. Seuss characters immortalized in bronze. The 4 to 6 foot statues are on display throughout the lush and beautiful indoor atrium. The exhibit, showcasing The Cat in the Hat, The Grinch, Sam I Am, Yertle the Turtle, and Lorax, has been traveling the world since 1997 and is currently at the atrium. Admission is free for the Seuss Sculpture Garden. The atrium will come to life at 6 pm as the Tree Lighting Show takes place! The delightful show lights up, plays music, and includes a dramatic fountain water show. If you’re in the atrium at just the right time, around 6:15 and 9:15 pm, you’ll think you’re seeing snow… Even though it’s always 72 degrees inside the atrium, a delightful indoor flurry occurs twice each night. Go to the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center located at 201 Waterfront Street in National Harbor, MD and see their beautiful holiday showcase this week, starting Thursday, November 18th, and continuing for the rest of the holiday season. The show opens at 8:30 am and continues until 9:30 pm.

The public is invited to participate in this year’s Reindeer Run 5k. The race will be held on December 4th and starts at 8:00 am. If you’re running, or watching, meet at The Fort George G. Meade Pavilion. The cost to participate is $10 per person or $25 for groups of four. The first 74 registrants will receive a Reindeer Run t-shirt. Forte George G. Meade Pavilion is located on highway 175 and Llewellyn Road in Fort Meade, MD.

Faith Assembly of God is holding their Old Fashioned Christmas Bazaar on Saturday, December 4, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The church is located in Lothian. The fun-filled holiday bazaar will feature crafts for sale, as well as a county store, home soups and other luncheon selections, baked goods, apple butter and other Christmas items.

The Eastern Neck National Wildlife Refuge invites you to connect with nature at its Open House on December 4th. There will be a bird walk, nature walk, Green Tree Reservoir tour, “Great Migration Connection” talk, “Nuts and Bolts” discussion, and pond tour. Lunch concessions and live music will take place at noon. Go to the Friends of Eastern Neck Bookstore for a special sale in honor of the open house. The Open House begin at 10:00 am and continues until 3:00 pm. The Eastern Neck National Wildlife Refuge is located at 1730 Eastern Neck Road in Rock Hall, MD.

Welcome the holidays with an evening stroll, and a pleasant remembrance of Christmas past. Glowing lanterns light your way as you stroll around Maryland’s historic State Capital, all trimmed in holiday greenery. Walk along the streets of Annapolis, past colonial mansions, Victorian townhouses and quaint shops. During this festive tour you will learn about the origin of many holiday customs. The Holiday Candelight Stroll takes place on Friday, December 3rd at 7:00 pm and Saturday, December 4th at the same time. On Friday, the Chesapeake Youth Symphony Orchestra will perform seasonal selections at 7:00. The Stroll begins at the Information Booth at City Dock.

The Kennedy Krieger Institute’s Annual Festival of Trees starts Friday, November 26th and continues through the weekend, ending on Sunday, November 28th. The show hours are: Friday 10:00 am – 9:00 pm, Saturday 10:00 am – 9:00 pm, and Sunday 10:00 am – 6:00 pm. The Annual Festival of Trees takes place at Cow Palace inside of the Maryland State Fairgrounds. The Fairgrounds are located at 2200 York Road in Timonium, MD. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 5 to 12 and seniors. Come and enjoy a free Christmas concert performed by the U.S. Navy Band on Sunday, December 5th at 3:00 pm. The celebration, held at the Mary Harrison Center, features music by the Navy Sea Chanters Chorus and the Country Current Country & Bluegrass Band. Doors will open at 2:45 pm. The Mary Harrison Center is at 2950 Chaneyville Road, Owings, MD. The concert will last approximately an hour and a half. Tickets are free for this great musical opportunity!
