Despite the government shut down canceling a few Navy birthday events, shows and family-friendly events still go on this week! Peruse the offerings below.

Annapolis Entertainment

Musical performances continue this week thanks to Rams Head on West Street. First up, BWB featuring Norman Brown, Kirk Whalum, and Rick Braun perform a jazzy show at 6 p.m. and again at 9 p.m. Each performance on Tuesday costs $45. Wednesday, John Mayall performs at 8 pm. for $47.50. Eddie Money performs with Glenn Symmonds on Thursday at 8 p.m. This rockin’ show costs $49.50. Willie Nile and Dan Bern perform on Friday at 8 p.m. This joint show costs $22.50. Yacht Rock Revue brings a touch of upbeat funk to the stage at 8 p.m. this Saturday. The show costs $25. The Colonial Players of Annapolis continues their risque and mysterious performance Communicating Doors through this Saturday, October 12. If you haven’t caught this play yet, know that this performance features a young and beautiful dominatrix who winds up uncovering a man’s secretive and murderous past. How appropriate that Historic Annapolis Museum and Watermark Tours offer ghost tours of the city this “haunted” month!? This Friday, October 11, the two Annapolis organizations team up to take attendees through William Paca House’s sick room and grounds. Tickets for adults cost $20; tickets for kids cost $14. Want to enjoy some local drinks and food while sailing on the lovely Chesapeake? Attend the “Brews in the Breeze” lunch cruise with Schooner Woodwind this Sunday, October 13. Attendees get four brews, crab cakes, and other Chesapeake favorites. The cruise departs at 12:30 p.m. and returns at 3 p.m. Tickets cost $74 per person. Annapolis Families

Children’s Theatre of Annapolis kicks off their season this week with another childhood favorite, Snow White: A Grimm Brothers Fairy Tale. This tale is a rendition of the classic. Snow White opens this October 11. Order tickets at Children’s Theatre of Annapolis to support this community effort!

At The Chesapeake Children’s Museum, an Animal Party is scheduled for this Sunday, October 13. Tons of animals and animal-themed arts and crafts will be available to enjoy. The party lasts from 1 to 4 p.m. and costs $5 per person. For more about this family-friendly event, head to CCM.

South River Federation teams up with Harbor Hills Community Beach in Davidsonville to provide a kayak excursion and picnic. The date is Saturday, October 12. The time is yet to determined. Check Annapolis Green toward the date of the kayak/picnic for the time.
